About LGC

The Sisters of the Living the Gospel Community are a Diocesan Congregation whose general purpose is the glory of God and the extension of His Kingdom through the work and sanctification of its members who take the vows of poverty, chastity and obedience in accord with the Gospel and their Constitutions.
The special purpose of the Community is to offer itself to God in the locality it is present, as an instrument for Renewing in the Holy Spirit and His Charisms the Body of Christ, Centering it on the Eucharist and Guiding it by the light of the Scriptures and the Magisterium, while Relying on Mary’s Motherly care.
The Congregation commits itself to the task the Holy Spirit continually undertakes in the Church: the upbuilding of the leaders and structures of the parish, the renewal of the Christian community itself in its multifarious aspects and levels of life. It aims to recapture the Spirit of the early Christian Community just after Pentecost, when the Body of believers “continued steadfastly in the teachings of the apostles and in the fellowship, in the breaking of the bread and the prayers.”
The Sisters do not limit themselves to one line of apostolate. Where the needs of the local church demands and the Congregation has the resources and capacity by way of personal training, they will serve the local Church.
